Vancouver, BC, is just 192km (119 mi) north of Seattle, Washington. I had the honor to travel to Vancouver, with Nesby Glasgow, former champion from Seattle Seahawks, American Football team. Professional American football safety who played 14 seasons in the National Football League from 1979 to 1992.
Where are we going?
Canada is divided into 10 provinces and 2 territories. It stretches from the Pacific Ocean on the west, to the Atlantic Ocean on the east. Northern Canada reaches into the Arctic Circle, while southern Canada stretches below the northern points of the United States. For this reason, one of the very first lesson you learn when you cross the board of this state is “We are all born under the same sky but not all of us share the same horizon.”
Canada Feels Like Europe.
I’m Italian and all it took was to cross the border with Canada for me to experience countless flashbacks of images and places which basically are what people imagine when they think of an adorable European city. Canada even uses metric system of measurement. Distance is measured in kilometres. Speed is expressed in kilometres per hour (km/h). Gasoline is measured in litres rather than gallons. Temperature is measured in degrees Celsius. If I could define Canada using 1 word, I woud say it is like a “mosaic”. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams meeting in the same place.
The sweeping landscape of Canada can’t help but be impressive, and showcase how one country truly can have it all when it comes to nature. Dramatic mountain ranges, traditional Aboriginal communities, ultra-modern cities, remote fishing villages — the size of Canada anticipate us a very important thing: Life encompasses every lifestyle imaginable, set against a backdrop of stunning natural beauty.
